New range of magnetic rotary encoders
Renishaw has introduced a range of
frictionless miniature magnetic encoders
with resolutions from 9-bit (512 counts
per revolution) to 12-bit (4,096 counts
per revolution).
Why use a frictionless magnetic
encoder?
No
seals to leak
No
bearings to fail
No
glass optics to break
No
internal moving parts
Immunity
to dirt, water, oil, dust, grease
(sealed to IP68)
Incremental
resolution to 4,096 steps
Absolute
resolution to 12 bits
High
speed operation to 30,000 rpm
Angular
accuracy to 0.2°
The
new range of rotary magnetic encoders is
easy to integrate, with a range of
formats offered, including component,
modular and packaged versions. Output
signal types include industry standard
absolute, incremental, analogue, linear
voltage and linear current.
With
such a flexible design, a wide range of
applications will benefit from these new
encoders, including marine, medical,
print, converting, industrial
automation, metal working, motor control
and instrumentation.
